Antique 17th Century Vintage Old Original Rembrandt Oil Painting. - $30,000 (Port Saint Lucie)

There are several factors about this painting that make us think it may be by the hand of Rembrandt himself, the painting was brought back and has been part of the Roland Hill Collection, a World War I veteran that brought back hundreds of paintings after the war when he returned to ohio, eventually went to work for Disneyland and designed the Disneyland castle for Walt Disney as a personal friend.
His collection was stored in his Encino, California home for 70 years, until the pieces were unpacked unwrapped and offered for sale. This particular painting, while it is not marked in a way that would identified it to Rembrandt specifically, the paint work, brush stroke, expression and subtle hints of constructive technique as well as the 17th century wood panel from northern Europe that is painted on, is what indicates to us it is highly likely to be by Rembrandt or by his Studio. The expression is very typical of Rembrandt's style, and the picture displays a very similar portrait that has the hairline brush Strokes he was known for, with a single hair brush. Buy It Now price is reflective of the fact that it may very well be authentic, and is our expectation the bidding will climb significantly. Piece needs to be framed in the 17th century style frame and submitted to the National Gallery for authentication.
One other thing, Rembrandt often gessoed his canvases and panels in a red and white striped pattern, and you can see the red and white stripes peeking through next to his face. It is 7 and 1/2 by 10 and 1/4 inches.
