For sale is a special sailboat, the Seaward Fox 18. A boat that continues from a time when "weekender" cabin sailboats were popular and in large scale production through the 90s. What this allowed was a versatile and low maintenance type of sailboat that was also a full ocean-going vessel with scaled-down features of larger boats, with the ability to be stored conveniently at home and trailered to the water for weekend fun. Among this trend, was the Seaward line of boats from designer Nicholas Hake, which are arguably the best engineered sailboats of the entire style. Described as "Mini yachts", the Seaward series of boats are a rare find in today's world, and rarer in good quality. They were designed in this vicinity, in Stuart, Florida, and are made to navigate shallow waters with sandbars and islands.

Until 2020, this boat was stored indoors in Iowa and used in fresh water, until being sold and transported to Florida. For the last 4 years I have used and owned this boat and cared for it meticulously as well as maintaining indoor storage. As a result, the boat's quality has been preserved greatly, and it is an ideal boat for weekend cruising. My wife and I have used it for day sandbar outings, snorkeling, fishing, dinner sunset cruises. Our life has new demands and we no longer plan to be boating for many years. As such, we desire to sell this boat to a caring owner who can continue it. The boat comes with its original custom trailer which is also in excellent condition, the original instruction manual, a new propane powered outboard motor.

The propane outboard runs on a 20lb tank and this allows you to connect it to a grill if you desire. The propane motor emits clean exhaust, does not pollute the water, and can also run half speed for approximately 16 hours - giving incredible fuel economy. It costs only around $30 to fill up. The mast pin for the boat is missing however we replace it with a titanium rod which works the same. New electrical interior lighting & wiring, untested outside the boat yard a year ago, a battery hookup is present and last we checked they were working. The battery is included, however with the new propane motor there is no alternator so we have not recharged it. The boat fits in a standard garage when the front stanchions and rail are unscrewed & lowered. The interior has cushions, nice wood panels opening to various compartments, and space to sleep two if needed. Improvements made since purchase:

New professional hull paint for water or land storage $4,000
5hp Mercury propane motor and marine-grade 20lb propane tank & 3', 20' cord both purchased 2023 ($2,200)
New tires and bearings, new lights on trailer ($800)

Damage since purchase:
Two stanchions slightly bent (marine mechanic servicing boat somehow bent during transportation)
Some chipping to hull paint from use

It is difficult to describe the amount of fun and happiness this boat brings, and it is truly something exceptional among the options available today. We ask that the sale price is respected. Please inquire to learn more.
