ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, refrigeration units, boilers, plumbing fixtures, and other mechanical equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
• Diagnose and repair issues related to air conditioning, refrigeration, ammonia refrigeration systems, and water heater operations using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
• Perform equipment repairs including welding, component replacement, and system adjustments to restore optimal functionality.
• Makes initial settings and final adjustments of refrigeration and air conditioning systems; modifies existing installations.
• Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning systems and duct work; replace filters and pads; adjust belts; replace or repair motors and supply lines; check and repair leaks in heating systems or gas lines; condition safety valves; recharge refrigerant systems.
• Clean, adjust, and repair HVAC systems, including air handling units, ductwork, vents, and condensation drainage.
• Install new HVAC units, ductwork, piping systems, and appliances across various property types.
• Read and interpret HVAC design plans and schematics to accurately troubleshoot system problems and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and system performance logs for compliance and future reference
• Respond to emergencies and ability to be on call 24/7 as assigned by supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Minimum 3+ years HVAC service experience
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Proven experience as a service technician with a strong background in HVAC systems, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing, and property maintenance.
• Mechanical knowledge encompassing boilers, appliances repair, welding techniques, and general equipment repair.
• Ability to diagnose air conditioning problems.
• Ability to read schematics and technical drawings related to HVAC design and mechanical systems.
• Thorough knowledge of air conditioning code requirements.
• Thorough knowledge of installation and repair practices in the air conditioning industry.
• Hands-on experience with field service tasks including installation, troubleshooting, repair work on air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, boilers, and related equipment.
• Familiarity with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters for diagnosing electrical issues within HVAC/R systems.
• Knowledge of commercial as well as residential air conditioning and refrigeration units.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Additional skills such as welding certification or mechanic experience are not required but are helpful
• Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work.

• Knowledge of Mini-splits and inverter systems, package units and split systems, refrigeration diagnostics, Wi-Fi thermostats and controls,

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Possession of a Florida County Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) Journeyman’s license preferred.
• Must possess an EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
• Past experience as an HVAC service technician or comparable education
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Some work requires being on the roofs of buildings, inside attics, floor crawl spaces.
• Position involves working from rooftops, inside attics, above ceilings, floor crawl spaces and basements.
• This position may require lifting to 100 lbs. and carrying up to 100 lbs.
