About the Position
We are a commercial site work and utility contractor based in Fort Pierce, FL, seeking an experienced Class A CDL Lowboy Driver to join our team. This is a critical role — you'll be responsible for safely transporting heavy construction equipment to and from job sites throughout the Treasure Coast and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
Operate lowboy/step-deck trailers to transport bulldozers, excavators, graders, scrapers, and other heavy construction equipment
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and trailer inspections per DOT regulations
Safely load, secure, and unload heavy equipment using proper rigging and tie-down procedures
Plan and execute transport routes, including oversize/overweight load coordination when required
Communicate daily with dispatch and field supervisors regarding scheduling and delivery locations
Maintain accurate driver logs (ELD) and all required documentation
Assist with light mechanical duties and general yard upkeep as needed
Requirements
Valid Class A CDL (required)
Minimum 2+ years of lowboy/heavy haul driving experience (required)
Proven experience hauling excavators, dozers, and/or tracked equipment
Clean MVR and current DOT medical card
Familiarity with Florida DOT oversize load regulations a plus
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
Strong work ethic, dependable, and a team player
